My husband and I have had a hard time finding good cocktails & Bar Underdog has leveled up our expectations for cocktails. We made a stop during our Caltrain from Sunnyvale to Palo Alto & it was the best decision. I did not know that bar nuts could be elevated that good! I’m not a pickle person and their pickle cocktail was actually so tasty! I cannot wait to go back soon and try more cocktails, snacks, and meals!

Creative Mixology and a Mixed Bag on Pricing The beverage program here is definitely the main draw, showcasing a lot of thought and effort in the flavor combinations. They have creative drinks on the menu that feature unique ingredients, house-infused spirits, and interesting presentations that you do not see at every standard neighborhood watering hole. However, the menu requires a bit of careful navigating when it comes to your wallet. The pricing structure feels a little inconsistent across the board; some of the selections feel pretty overpriced for what you actually get in the glass, while some are good value and feel entirely fair for the quality and size. It really comes down to what you order, so it pays to look over the menu options closely before deciding. Attentive Bar Service and Operations The front-of-house team does a great job of managing the space, which helps elevate the overall experience. Welcoming Staff: The service was good from the moment we walked in, with the bartenders greeting us quickly and making sure we were taken care of even as the room started to fill up. Efficient Pace: Drinks were mixed and served at a great pace, meaning you are never left sit

Unique, invigorating cocktails. Tried No. 34, you should try it. Must try. Tried chicken , that was amazing as well. My next go to place for really great cocktails. Expensive ofcourse but worth the price. Late night atmosphere is crowded and lively.

Underdog is a new cocktail bar from the owners of ProtΓ©gΓ© in Palo Alto. There is no sign on the outside and with the tinted windows so you can’t see how many people are inside. The waitresses were attentive and seated us right away. There’s an assortment of booths and high tops along with the central bar. I was a bit surprised at how cheap and flimsy looking the backless stools at the bar were. There is a savory menu of appetizers and entrees. We ordered a tuna tartare with crisp onion chips and a burdock and carrot dip with sprouted lentils, togarashi and two pieces of buttered sesame toast. For my first cocktail I tried a Suntory Toki Whisky Highball. I couldn’t see the actual Toki Highball tower machine because someone was sitting right in front of it. Normally highball machines provide carbonation with finer bubbles than you’d get from a conventional soda machine. It was nice and chilled with a clear Collins-style ice cube. The flavor was exactly how you’d expect a Toki Highball to taste. For my second cocktail, I ordered a Fru-Ti Punch. It came in a highball glass and Collins ice cube wrapped in a thin ribbon of papaya leaf. I expected something a bit more colorf
